Exeter is at the centre of the continuing popularity of the South West, for both business and residential reasons. There is a well established letting market for young professionals and students that has regularly shown upward only rent reviews. There is considerable pressure on letting agents to find high quality rented accommodation in the city and its surrounding villages. Further to this, Exeter shows the potential for increasingly strong capital growth as it develops as a regional capital and attracts residents and business people who might once have only considered Cambridge, Oxford or London. These factors, coupled with the fact that high quality housing is in relatively short supply, mean, in our view, house prices are likely to outperform many other areas in the UK. |
